Making Sense of Humor, Documentary

"Making Sense of Humor" is a long-form documentary exploring the power, purpose, and place of humor in our lives. Through a number of original interviews with comedians, historians, and public figures—including Craig Kilborn, Preet Bharara, David Litt, Brian Kiley, Jessica Pisano, and others—the film examines how humor isn't a break from politics, but a force within it. From leaders like Lincoln and Reagan to Obama and Zelensky, 'Making Sense of Humor' looks at how wit can steady leaders, challenge power, and connect people when the stakes are highest. But beyond politics, the film explores how laughter lives in the everyday—bridging divides, easing pain, and reminding us of what we share. Along the way, viewers might just find themselves laughing, too.
